Horizontal carousels are one of the most economical and efficient AS/RS systems used in distribution. These machines are simple, but can significantly reduce space requirments and increase efficiency. By using light directed picking and placing to order containers, accuracy can also be increased. Horizontals work best for materials that are replenished less frequently - smaller items and slower moving large items.
